Dorrie is a painter, a fourth generation Californian, and a Martinez resident for over 20 years. She served on the task force that established AC5 (Arts & Culture Commission of Contra Costa County) and has been the Exhibits Curator since 1996. She studied Art at the University of Maryland, The Corcoran School of Art, Monterey Cannery Studios, UC Berkeley Extension and Diablo Valley College. Dorrie has taught summer adult mural classes for the City of Martinez and children’s art classes at John Muir Elementary School, Hidden Valley School, at Martinez Junior High School, and at the Children's Summer and Home School Art Classes through the City of Martinez.

Dorrie’s art has been displayed in the City Hall in Martinez, the mARTinez GALLERY, the Main ARTery Gallery in Benicia, the Millennium Column Project, the Contra Costa Wind Symphony's production of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, at several First Night Martinez celebrations, at the Martinez Fiesta Italia Chalk Art Festival, and at the Bedford Gallery.

Dorrie's murals can be viewed on Escobar Street, Court and Susana Streets, F Street and the Library Garden in Martinez.

Dorrie has served as a Martinez Arts Association Board member, as a Martinez Arts and Library Commission Chair, and as a Moraga Gallery Board member. She presently serves on the Board of the mARTinez GALLERY.
