The Martinez Arts Association wants to congratulate the 2014 Alhambra High School MAA Scholarship recipients, Mark Metzger and Alicia Cauthen.
Mark Metzger received $1000 for continuing his education in the Performing Arts. Mark plans to study Musical Theatre at New York University or UC Irvine. If he attends UC Irvine, he will also be pursuing a second degree in Film Studies and looks forward to playing in orchestral bands as often as possible.
Alicia Cauthen plans to minor in Photography at the University of Nevada, Reno. Alicia completed a series of photographs of “Animals at the San Francisco Zoo” as her Advanced Placement Photography concentration theme. She has shown her photographs in many school art shows and at the Solano County Libraries.
The Martinez Arts Association is proud to support promising artists in our community. The MAA’s Martinez Gallery (630 Court St.) donates 15% of all proceeds to help support art education in our local schools. Our main annual fundraising event, Art in the Park, make scholarships, such as these, possible for graduating seniors.
